Mandatory Instructions Before Booking

Before making your appointment, read all this information! Before you schedule read all information below!

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

After reading this document please let us know if you have any further questions or if there are restrictions that may apply to you.

At Cristiano Martins we will provide you with information on how the micropigmentation procedure works. The before and after procedure are also very important. Once you are sure no restrictions apply and depending on availability, we can organize an appointments and provide information regarding the deposit.

In order to perform the procedure the client must:

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have controlled and normal blood glucose levels.
  • Not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Not have received Botox treatment in the past 3 weeks.
  • Not have breastfed in the last 6 months.
  • Not have taken isotretinoin or made usage or treatment with acid in the last 30 days.

To perform the procedure an anesthetic cream is used and some discomfort or pain can be felt. This usually depends on the individuals sensitivity, most clients feel absolutely no discomfort.

The Hair-by-Hair Micropigmentation of eyebrows and the Hyper-Realistic Microblading are undertaken in different sessions.

The initial charge for in the first session DOES NOT include the touch-up procedure. The client should chose when this will be completed and book a separate session.

It is possible that during the first session the client may experience some adverse reactions such as Pigment failure or the body rejecting coloring agents. These reactions are more likely to happen to people with oily skin. If this happens additional retouch sessions will be required. Depending on the severity it might be necessary to return for 2 (two) additional retouch sessions. Please note that each re-touch session is an additional cost.

A second session is not mandatory; and it is the client`s decision to book a second appointment. If the results of the first session are satisfactory the second session can be scheduled when the client is ready for a re-touch.

If there are imperfections, the second session must be undertaken within a period of 30 to 60 days after the initial session. It is NOT POSSIBLE to predict the clients skin reaction.

Micropigmentation duration can vary from person to person. It is important to remember that the original color will last only for few months. Unlike a tattoo, Micropigmentation is temporary and tends to fade within a few months.

Be aware that this procedure is temporary Micropigmentation and not a permanent tattoo.

Micro-pigmentation is not permanent, the technique consists of implanting pigments in the Epidermis (first layer of the skin).

It will always need to be retouched to ensure the color is enhanced. It is rare but, on some people, it is possible that the pigment may leave some permanent color marks. In this case laser removal procedure may be needed.

In the first few days after the procedure it is common that the eyebrows appear darker as a result of the healing process, forming scabs that detach in 7 to 10 days.

Each person’s skin reacts in a particular way, oily skins tend not to absorb the pigment in the first session. External agents such as the sun, nicotine, acid-based creams tend to lighten the pigment.

Eyebrows with large differences in symmetry, which require correction outside the hair in the natural line, can fade faster in that specific area as a result of direct exposure to sun and water. This is due to the lack of protection from natural hairs.

The technique is based on the design of the hair lines on the eyebrows, respecting it’s line and natural shape. The procedure consists of filling up scattered areas, improving their image and when possible, lengthening the size of the eyebrows, accentuating the arch and minimizing the appearance of scars.

Without proper aftercare and if the recommendation are not followed there is a possibility of infections or allergic reactions. Aftercare is very important to avoid any inconvenience from inflammations and allergies. The client should carefully read the before and aftercare instructions prior to procedure and be sure to follow all the recommended steps.

According to the State of Texas requirements we are obliged to inform all customers about the possibility of infections and/or allergic reactions to the pigment or other materials used. However, this is very unlikely to happen and rarely seen during our 10 years in the profession, working with high quality products with sterile and disposable materials.

After the Procedure

THE PROCEDURE: Proper Aftercare for your eyebrow improvement is necessary to achieve the best results.

Review the following instructions and refer to them as necessary. If during the healing process you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

• Straight after the microblading procedure it is necessary to allow the eyebrows to breathe for 1 hour.

• DO NOT touch your eyebrows during the healing process.

• DO NOT wet the eyebrows, including sweat.

• DO NOT eat shrimp or pork for one week to avoid allergies.

• DO NOT undergo any beauty treatment for skin care for at least 14 days after your procedure.

You may experience the following symptoms during the first few days:

• Inflammation, mild redness and mild tenderness.

• Itching in and around the treatment area.

• Dry and peeling skin (due to crusting).

• The color can appear super dark.

• Those symptoms are a normal part of the healing process.

Daily care to follow for 1 week

• Apply a light layer of Vaseline (apply a maximum of 3 times a day - please read Balm Instruction After Care). Make sure to wash your hands before applying the product in order to avoid cross contamination.

• Do not splash your face for 3 days.

• Keep your hair away from the eyebrows to avoid the possibility of infection.

• Itchy skin is normal. DO NOT TOUCH, RUB OR SCRATCH your eyebrows, as the color may heal unevenly and you may be at a risk of infection, which in turn could cause scarring. Allow the skin to flake and heal naturally.

• Makeup should not be applied near your treatment area during this time, although you are more than welcome to apply makeup in areas EXCEPT the eyebrows after microblading procedure.

Avoid for 1 week

• Do not expose to direct sunlight, tanning treatments, Jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, chlorine pools and direct contact with a shower.

• Do not apply dyes, waxes, peels, electrolysis or laser hair removal treatments near the region of the procedure.

Balm Instructions After Care

• Day of treatment: apply the balm ointment with a Q-Tip or clean finger to each eyebrow before you sleep.

• Day 2: apply the balm in the morning, plus apply balm 2X times throughout the day keeping the brows hydrated.

• After 3 days it is fine to shower and wash the brow area. Please be gentle and use something like Cetaphil or a mild wash

• Day 3-7: For the remaining of the healing process apply balm 2-3 times a day. Apply balm when you feel like the brows are drying out.

• Final healing Day: At this point, your brows will appear very light in color. The true color will appear in 4-5 weeks. The true color will be 30% to 50% lighter than the initial color.

The following points must be avoided after microblading procedure (approximately 14 days):

• Increased sweating (do not work out for 3 days)

• Extensive sun exposure

• Practicing sports

• Swimming for 2 (two) weeks

• Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi

• Sun tanning or salon tanning

• UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading

• Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retinol-A or Glycolic acid on the face or neck

• Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

• Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris

• Drinking alcohol in excess

• Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles

• Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab

NOTE: THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS – These vary due to different skin types, lifestyle etc.

LONG TERM CARE

• Use facial sunscreen on the treated area. Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment.

• Laser to brow areas may cause change of color to the pigment.

• As the treated area fades away the traces will become faint and less defined.

• Chemical exfoliants will cause brows to fade away faster.

• Avoid products with Glycolic Acid, once it is a pigment removal.

Before and After Care - THE PROCEDURE: How do I prepare for my appointment?

Keep in mind that your selected color will be more striking and clearly defined for 10 to 14 days after treatment, but as the healing process continues the color will soften and clear to 60%.

The period of healing is approximately 30 days; however the healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised or if you are generally stressed and with a poor diet. WE DO NOT PERFORM A RE-TOUCH LESS THAN 30 DAYS, PLEASE DO NOT INSIST! Keep in mind that in many cases, some color irregularity is to be expected. This is the purpose of the Touch-up visit after 30 DAYS that allows us to correct any issues with your procedure. This is NOT included in the initial cost.

If your eyebrows begin to fade quickly and the color is disappearing it may mean that your skin did not absorb the pigment correctly is not largely receptive to treatment. This is normal, DO NOT PANIC, during the re-touch the color can be reinforced. In some cases, people may have difficult skin that is not too receptive to treatment. This can vary from person to person. This not a professional failure and if a second touch up is necessary please note that additional costs will apply.
